Sparkle Sunday

Champagne is a commonly known as the drink of celebration, but with growing number of West Aussies opting for a glass of bubbles as their drink of choice at luncheons, events, etc. Bistro Guillaume comes in timely to present their newest offer Champagne Sundays.

Every Sunday (for a limited time only), they offer decadent two or three course meals with flowing Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial. But bear in mind, the booking must be made for lunch between 12 noon to 1pm to receive this service.

Bistro Guillaume is located inside the Crown Metropol and is situated right next to the Atrium. The decor is impressive with high ceiling and open view of the pool.
Spacious & comfortable decor

The service was impeccable starting from the most amazing bread (I had a little too many refills) followed by the entrees -onion soup (traditional French soup made of onions and beef stock topped with melted cheese) and twice-baked cheese souffle with roquefort sauce. Not to mention the timely top-ups of our glasses of bubbles.

Crowd pleaser - Twice-baked Cheese Souffle
The mains followed shortly after - veal shank with white bean cassoulet, chorizo, brussel sprouts, baby herbs and duck breast with chorizo and red pepper puree, potato, leek and bacon croquette.

En natural lighting was on point!

Succulent Veal Shank
Cassoulet is originally from the Languedoc-Roussilon region of France and is traditionally made up of white beans, duck legs, and pork of different kinds.
Duck Breast cooked just right!
I sneakily tried both of the dishes and I preferred the duck breast! French cuisine is famous for duck dishes, Duck à l'orange and Confit de Canard to name a few, so I was immediately drawn to the duck dish on the menu and it didn't disappoint! Succulent and tender with each mouthful. The veal was soft, rich in flavour and just pulled apart from the bone but I didn't particularly enjoy the cassoulet.

We were very full after the two-course meal and one too many champagne glasses, but you can opt to indulge a little more and spend just $20 more to enjoy a three-course meal. This would mean you can try the desserts like Profiteroles with vanilla bean icecream or Vanilla Creme Brulee, trio of apple and doughnuts. Yum!
