Spirals Cinnamon

Image
Nothing beats the smell of fresh baked goods. This is what Spirals Cinnamon in Mt Hawthorn offers. Tucked away in the corner of Charles and Green Street, Spirals Cinnamon offers fresh cinnamon rolls hot out of the oven. They keep classic cinnamon rolls at the back for freshness and make only one of each flavour at a time to be on the display- flavours which change regularly. Expect Coffee, Raspberry, Cream cheese, Peanut Butter (YUM) and more (what’s next?)! Although there is a shady alfresco area with several tables for those who choose to dine-in, overall they offer little space for dine-in and utilise most of its spacing for back of the house baking. However, a lot can be forgiven for an excellent Cinnamon roll. Ask anyone: you may have never tried the Spirals’ cinnamon roll, but you will never have eaten it only once. Take note: they are only open from Wednesday to Saturday. Facebook page   Location: 21 Green St, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016 Opening Hours: Wednesd...

Pietro Gelateria

I am loving these local, handmade gelato places popping up around Perth in the recent year. I remember the days when getting icecream went only as far as the Baskin Robbins, icecream truck or supermarkets (not that I have anything against that)! Perth people can now get picky with choosing what sort of icecream or gelato and flavours. Pietro Gelateria is fairly new to the icecream-scene in Perth, and follows suit from Whisk Creamery in Northbridge and Subiaco, Chicho Gelato in Northbridge, Kuld Creamery in Highgate and Roho Bure icecream in South Fremantle. In contrast, they offer different alternative gelato- Modern Sicilian. These guys are located in Vic Park with alfresco sitting area perching out from the Park Centre on Albany Hwy. The gelateria offers fresh, delicious flavours and keeps flavours trendy and exciting. I tried multiple flavours because every flavour sounded so intriguing - ricotta, orange, d.choc / orange, fennel / lavender, earl grey / saffron, rose water, pis...

Kuld Kult

Gone are the days of plain vanilla or chocolate ice cream flavours. Don’t get me wrong here, I love a good chocolate ice cream, but the genius team behind Kuld Creamery in Highgate- Mati and Kaitlyn let their imaginations go wild with their hand made craft ice cream sourcing local ingredients. They use Pure WA cream, organic milk and local free range eggs, and are all for the community and spreading and sharing their love for ice cream. They even manage to make ice cream sound healthy – think beetroot chocolate to vegan ice cream!💓 They started off as a small pop-up-like shop in a laneway owned by the Blacklist Roasters , but they have gained so much love from the crowd that they have opened a second location in Freo (yay to those living on the South of the river)! Kuld has created almost a kult (haha) for their ice cream. What’s more is that you can expect our local favs (kuld x top DUP donut legends) to collaborate to create bombs such as the S’mores Dough Bomb Ala...
