Tiisch Cafe & Bistro
This article is mainly dedicated to the NEW dinner service available at the Tiisch cafe and bistro. However, they do have an extensive range of dishes from breakfast, brunch to dinner menus.
The chef sources local ingredients (Rotto scallops to Denmark blueberries), work on balance of the dish and pairs it perfectly with carefully selected beverages list. Dishes aren't complicated but are imaginative. Staff are passionate and professional. Again, they provide a whole experience when you dine in here and the restaurant's soft music and candlelight gives it a romantic ambience.đ
We started off with entrĂ©es - Stirling ranges Beef Tartare with bone marrow mayonnaise (think truffle đ)and Duck, fig & walnut terrine. Prices are $19 and $16 respectively and for the quality and quantity, they are worth every penny.
Our mains were Beef cheek Bourguignon with paris mash and Confit ocean trout with onions and caper beurre noisette. They were absolutely smashing. Soft, tender and juicy beef cheeks perfectly seasoned and the ocean trout was cooked perfectly. Everything made sense on the dish.
Moreover, they are offering a free dessert when you book in to dine in this month (bonus!). Espresso CrÚme brûlée is an absolute winner, a light finish to the course despite feeling so full.
Another factor to get excited about this place is their use of Miko Matcha- a matcha line produced by Sarah, the mastermind behind the Tiisch! They use this in their pancakes and matcha drinks (think matcha bubbletea!đ).

The word 'Tiisch' is derived from 'Zu Tisch' which means table. German Kings would say to gather community around a table to dine together. I think this sings perfectly throughout the bistro what with community tables and dining tables all lined up as if we are dining together. The real OOMPH factor here is the transition between breakfast/lunch to dinner. During the sunlight hours, the cafe is vibrant, fresh and inviting. On the contrast, during their dinner service, the cafe completely transforms into almost a new venue; a modern bistro, which enables customers to immerse themselves into the whole experience. It's intimate and exciting.đ
I must mention, their cocktail list is delicious and inventive! I opted for Avante Gardner as recommended which includes Gin, Cinzano Bianco, Lemon, Creme de cacao, peppermint, eucalyptus. Interesting list of ingredients, yet perfectly balanced, refreshing and the scent was just divine.
