From there, he has managed to branch out to over 360 outlets worldwide including 226 in Japan, 23 in South Korea and Hong Kong, 33 in China, 6 in Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Macau, Vietnam, Philippines, Canada, Brunei and US - you get the idea.

It's the theatrical show of the sizzling hot metal plate that excites the customers. Heated up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit - that's 260 celcius, the food arrives at the table sizzling, creating a mouthwatering experience for customers even before they dig into their dish.
The meat can be eaten rare or well done, depending on the customer's preference. And they highly recommend using the condiments provided on the table - with a choice of either the special honey brown sauce (Amakuchi) or garlic soy sauce (Karakuchi), to add flavour to the meat or vegetables.
I highly recommend adding the sweet sauce 'Amakuchi' onto onions to caramelise them whilst the plate is still sizzling. |
Pepper Lunch Southlands branch is spacious and is relatively new (one year into their business) but is booming with people during dinner times - it was packed on a Friday night around 7PM.

We usually go to Pepper Lunch in the city when we crave some good quality meat with rice and fast and cheap food. For less than 15 bucks, the meals here are so filling that we can't fit anything else in afterwards. But we couldn't say no to their new dessert, the Volcano.
Belgian waffle with vanilla icecream, fresh fruits and chocolate sauce to top it up -and watch it sizzle away on the hot plate when you pour it on. And it's big enough to share between 3-4 people.
They also sell premium icecream such as green tea and red bean icecream π
