As a family owned business, Mt Claremont Village Bakery brings all the locals to the spot. Not only do they sell rock & roll artisan breads, bagels to desserts, one of the owners Emmett and his dad Sean are the nicest people we've met; it was like talking to one of our neighbours! When asked what was their most popular product in house, he couldn't specify a single item. The reason being they sell out of most of their baked goods in the morning! From humble cinnamon rolls to strawberry tarts and doughnuts, everything from their bakery is a winner.


At the Royal Food Award for Bread and Pastry show in 2016, they won Bronze in sausage rolls and pasties, Silver in artisan sweet and flavoured breads, Silver in Sourdough, and Gold in ciabatta rolls. Yes, they mean serious bread business.

We highly recommend trying their cinnamon roll and doughnuts from the bakery and get there early to avoid disappointment and to see the bakery in its full glory (full cabinet that is).

Thailand cuisine is a favourite cuisine for many including myself. Thaitation hasn’t been around for long but it has certainly made itself known in the Floreat Forum block. It’s a small restaurant with an inviting alfresco dining area. And you can expect full bookings on busy Friday and weekend nights. Upon entering, you instantly hear the chefs in the kitchen speaking in Thai, knockings of woks in the background and you are hit with smell of fish sauce and coconut milk. You see tanks of fish oil and coconut milk stacked up on the kitchen bench. They offer authentic yet modern flavours. Foodies will probably agree- the most frequently asked question we get is: " Can you recommend me a good food place/restaurant? " It's definitely a part of the job (or a serious hobby in my case) requirement to answer this question. Most of the time I'm reluctant to tell people anywhere in particular because: 1) everyone's taste buds are different, 2) there are so many restaurants, it is hard to pick just one or two! 3) I don't want to tell anyone about my secret place sometimes hahah.
