Matters of Taste
The name says it all; Matters of Taste cooking school really takes the tastes and their foodstuffs seriously. Tracey and Anthony are a husband and wife team who has continued their pursue of happiness towards food and sharing that love through their cooking school. They have maintained and stayed on this pathway for 20 years to prove that. The new location in the Precinct in Mt Pleasant has brand-new equipment and great space for cooking. They provide food enthusiasts with tips and laminated recipes to die for - to take home and try cooking at comfort of your kitchen anytime you want to.
They accommodate over 35 different cooking classes, corporate events, food tours and they have just launched the newest addition to their business called the "Cooks Collective". It is an online platform designed to help those who wants to learn but don't have time to register for a class. You get an access to cooking classes, mid-week recipes and kitchen tips from the comfort of your home kitchen. Tracey and the team are really capable of keeping up with the latest "foodie" trends and just likes to have fun during the classes! The classes consist of such wide variety of cuisines including Thai, Italian, Asian to cooking brunch foods, hightea and experiencing cooking with smoke and wood to even kids classes. We popped into experience the New York Nosh class which consisted of dishes NY style cheeseburger with slaw, Chicken buffalo wings with hot sauce and blue cheese sauce, and the Cracker Pie to finish off the night. We split into two different teams and began with demonstrations from chefs Tracey and Bryonie. It was a very interactive session with few useful cooking tips shared in between the talks.
The recipes were very easy to follow and each dishes only comprised of ONE A4 page- which I appreciated.
It was an absolute feast and every dish was just jam packed with bold flavours. You learn, meet like-minded people, have fun and at the end enjoy what you made. And on the plus side, wonderful ladies do all the dishes for you! 🙋
