Brotzeit Berkshire
Introducing Berkshire Pork from Hamlet- the 'wagyu' of the pork world.
Almdudler: German soft drink |
Still the place to go to for meat feast, German bier and Oktoberfest, Brotzeit is located inside 140 Perth arcade. We tried out their new menu 'Berkshire Pork Platter' which offers a starter, sides and the main platter.
First up! German pretzels- dark brown, crispy (but not dry), salty crust and inside a soft plump dough. 😍 Those butter on the platter is there for a reason, so rip the knots apart and dip them into butter!

The sides were spicy wedges and shoestring fries with spices. I love my potato wedges especially with sweet chili and sour cream but they had ketchup and mayo instead - that could be a German thing, cooking or dipping a lot of things in mayo or curry-ketchup/ketchup. 😂
Regardless, those fries were seasoned perfectly, crispy and the most delicious shoestring fries I've tried in Perth. You know the chips are good when they taste good even when they've gone cold.

Heritage breed from the Hamlet farm located in the South West close to Waroona, Berkshire pigs are grass fed and eat nutrient rich food such as high protein pig pallets, windfall local fruit, whey from cheese making and macadamias from Hamlet farm orchard. This enables marbling in the meat which produces flavours that are much more rich, sweet, buttery yet clean to the palate.
The platter includes bratwurst, pork belly, pork cutlet, pork scotch, with condiments including porcini butter, apple sauce, cranberry, truffle infused mustard, seeded mustard. This would be shared between at least four people!

These free range, hormone and antibiotic free pork were so juicy and tender. Pork belly with the crackle was the winner for me smothered with little bit of the porcini butter (yum!).
